The Israeli authorities have evacuated 400 families from their homes in the settlement of Tzur Hadassah, southwest of Jerusalem, following a fire in a nearby forest, according to Russia Today.
The Israeli police said that they evacuated the families due to the rapid spread of the fire and its progress towards the houses, and Israeli websites reported that 35 firefighting crews supported by 10 aircraft were struggling to put out the fire in the Tzur Hadassah forests.
