Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko confirmed that his country has expelled all diplomatic staff of the Latvian embassy in Belarus.
In his speech with members of parliament, members of the Constitutional Committee and representatives of state administration bodies, according to the (Russia Today) news channel today, Wednesday, Lukashenko added, commenting on this decision, that his country "acted as a sovereign nation state."
It is reported that Latvian Foreign Minister Edgar Rinkheviks, accompanied by Riga Mayor Martin Stakes, removed the national flag of Belarus and replaced it with the flag of the Belarusian opposition, from the mast near a hotel in the city center.
