For the fifth day in a row, the Belgian authorities continue to search for a suspected soldier, sending a letter threatening to attack some state institutions and assassinate a number of public figures.
The Federal Prosecutor announced, in statements carried by the Morgen Post, that the company’s men have so far searched 10 homes in the vicinity of the area from which the man sent his message, and an investigative judge has been appointed who specializes in terrorism, with regard to attempted murder and violation of the gun law in a terrorist context.
The Belgian authorities have been searching for the man since Tuesday, and the authorities assume that he is armed because he had direct access to a weapons depot and a unit in the army, and due to the sympathy of the far right, the wanted soldier is on the terrorism list of the Belgian counter-terrorism agency.
