Pakistan uses the army to enforce the Corona restrictions and the President expresses his concern about the new wave


Pakistani President Arif Alawi has expressed his concerns about a new wave of Coronavirus (Covid-19) in the country.

 

And the Pakistani President demanded - according to the official Pakistan News Agency today, Sunday, that all citizens adhere to the announced instructions and wear masks in public places to avoid the increase in cases of the virus.

 

 While the Pakistani Ministry of Interior announced the use of the army in the provinces of Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in addition to the capital, Islamabad, to strictly impose restrictions to prevent the outbreak of the new Corona virus (Covid-19).

 

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said - in a statement carried by the Pakistani "Geo News" channel - that the decision to use the armed forces was taken during a meeting of the National Coordination Committee to Combat Coronavirus, headed by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

 

It is noteworthy that Pakistan recorded - earlier today - 5,611 new cases of the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19), during the past 24 hours; This brings the total confirmed cases of the virus to 795,627.

While the country recorded 118 new deaths during the same period as a result of infection with the virus; This brings the total deaths to 17,117 deaths.
