Tunisia is the fifth African country in terms of the number of people vaccinated against Corona by vaccinating 1.5 million people

Tunisian Minister of Health Fawzi Mahdi confirmed that his country is the fifth African country in terms of the number of vaccinated against the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19), with more than 1.5 million people vaccinated so far, and the second in North Africa after Morocco, contrary to what is being circulated about the slow vaccination process in the country. .

 

The Tunisian minister explained - in a statement to the Tunis African News Agency - that the number of people registered in the "IFAX" system for vaccination against Covid 19 rose to 2.5 million people, noting that the number of doses provided by Tunisia to confront the pandemic was estimated at about one million and 600 thousand doses.

 

He pointed out that during the next week, 500,000 doses of the Chinese vaccine "Sinovac" will be obtained, in addition to other batches of the "Pfizer" vaccine that will arrive later in Tunisia.

 

He affirmed full readiness to confront a fourth wave of the Corona pandemic through the availability of sufficient quantities of oxygen thanks to the support of private institutions and in the framework of cooperation with Algeria, as well as the recovery and oxygen beds, despite the pressure experienced by health institutions regarding the number of cases of sheltering for people infected with the virus.
