The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad affirmed Tunisia's firm commitment to the universal principles and values ​​for the protection of refugees, its adherence to international treaties and charters in the field of human rights protection and the provisions of international humanitarian law, and its keenness to provide appropriate conditions for receiving refugee arrivals.

 

A Tunisian Foreign Ministry statement issued today, Saturday, stated that this comes on the occasion of the revival of Tunisia and the rest of the international community, the World Refugee Day, which is organized this year under the slogan "Together we recover, learn and shine."

 

The statement indicated that Tunisia will continue its unremitting efforts, whether at the level of bilateral or multilateral cooperation, in order to develop a comprehensive approach to address the phenomenon of asylum, or at least contain its repercussions by addressing its deep causes and causes, including especially defusing crises and wars and finding a peaceful settlement of conflicts across the world.

 

The statement clarified that the presence of more than 80 million refugees across the world, today calls on us as an international group to assume all responsibility in order to ensure a better, more just and equitable response to refugee crises.

 

In this context, Tunisia called on all partners from countries, organizations and civil society to redouble efforts and enhance cooperation and equal solidarity in order to ensure equality between peoples and the realization of their economic and social rights, including the right to development.

 

She also stressed that addressing the phenomenon of asylum calls for establishing effective partnerships in which the human dimension is linked to development and that take into account all economic, social, financial, health and climatic issues, thus contributing to building the capacities of refugees and host communities alike and helping them to withstand in the face of crises and to ensure the transition from achieving recovery. To build a healthy, better, inclusive and inclusive future for all.
