The "Troika" countries affirm their strong support for Sudan


Norway's ambassador to Khartoum, Teresa Loken, said that the troika countries, which include the United States, Norway and the United Kingdom, affirm their strong support for Sudan and provide the necessary political support for the success of the transitional period.

 

A member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in Sudan, Malik Agar, met with Norwegian Ambassador to Khartoum Theresa Loken, in the presence of the Norwegian special envoy to Sudan and South Sudan Andre Estense.

 

Malik Agar praised the positions of the Kingdom of Norway in support of the transitional government and the peace and stability process in Sudan.

 

For her part, the Norwegian ambassador explained that she and a member of the Sovereignty Council held a fruitful and constructive meeting, which dealt with the transitional period and its challenges, stressing her country's readiness to provide support and assistance to Sudan to overcome the challenges.

 

She said that the Troika countries agreed to provide support for the peace agreement and to overcome obstacles to implementation, adding that the Troika countries encourage and support a comprehensive peace process at various levels, and that they will work, in coordination with each other, to support Sudan to achieve a prosperous future for its people.
