Moroccan reports: Al-Ahly and Bannon drop Esperance and approach the African final

Moroccan media highlighted the loss of the Esperance team at the hands of Al-Ahly with a clean goal, in the match that brought them together in Rades, in the first leg of the semi-finals of the African Champions League.

Although the qualification was not decided, Al-Ahly regained memories of its brilliance at the Rades stadium, where it had previously won the African Championship twice on this stadium in 2006 against Sfaxien and 2012 against Esperance, and also beat Esperance before on the same stadium.

And the Moroccan newspaper, “Al-Mukhtahab”, said that Al-Ahly approached qualifying for the final of the African Champions League after winning a clean goal away from its stadium, giving it the advantage in achieving a result in the return match in Cairo.

The newspaper pointed out that the Moroccan Badr Bannoun, the Al-Ahly defender, succeeded in reducing the danger of the attackers and players of the Tunisian Esperance, and led the Egyptian champion to victory in the first leg.

The start of the match was delayed 60 minutes due to the riots of the Esperance fans, and the fans of the Esperance team rioted, forcing the Tunisian police to fire tear gases.

The Rades stadium witnessed clear riots from the Esperance fans, which caused the players and the refereeing staff, led by Victor Gomez, to leave the field, so that the match observer resorted to delaying the match for 60 minutes.
