El Gouna club officials believe that the Congolese Walter Bwalya, the Al-Ahly striker, did not get the opportunity to express half of his offensive capabilities, after leaving El Gouna for the Red Castle in the last winter transfers.
A source in El-Gouna club revealed that Al-Ahly was quick to judge the Congolese striker, explaining that Bwalya has extraordinary offensive capabilities, but he needed more time to adapt to the pressures, saying: “When Bwalya plays with us 35 games and scores 16 goals, is this an average? Could my goal come by chance?!”
He continued: "Bwalya did not express his true potential, but Al-Ahly is not the team that gives you many opportunities because it is required to win every match and a championship every short period in order to satisfy the fans, so Bwalya's luck in Al-Ahly was very difficult and very bad."
Regarding the player’s return to El-Gouna, he said: “We welcome him and know his capabilities, but the player is currently tied to a contract with Al-Ahly, and his return depends on the form of negotiations. We do not know yet if Al-Ahly is thinking of selling or loaning the player, but in both cases we need the player.”
For his part, Reda Sheha, coach of the team, said: “I try as much as possible to create an entity and form for the team, some take a statement that performance is more important than the result, but I mean that the ball is a gain and a loss, and in the event of a loss, I hope that the performance will be good, so that the fans respect you even with Loss, I don't have a performance analyst but I do the job myself and handle errors myself with the technical staff.
On the reason for the decline in El-Gouna’s level after the strong start in the league, Reda Shehata said, “We did not include many players this season. We tried to save expenses and we were injured by 3 players simultaneously in the back line, and this affected us greatly and led to a decline in results despite our strong start in the league, After that, Walter Bwalya left and we had two players injured in the cruciate ligament, all the humiliation affected us.
