Chamber of Medicine Industry: 40 to 50 new factories in the sector are under construction in Egypt


A source in the Drug Industry Chamber of the Federation of Industries stated that there are about 40 to 50 new factories currently under construction, according to the estimates available to the Chamber, indicating that the Coronavirus crisis has disrupted some investments in this vital sector.

 

 

Dr. Ahmed El-Ezaby, President of the Chamber of Medicine, confirmed that the strategy for developing the drug industry in Egypt depends on a number of pillars, including the availability of some sectors of pharmaceutical raw materials, the manufacture of drug derivatives such as serums and vaccines, as well as drug registration processes, monitoring production and storage processes, and the availability of research in the field of medicine. , Indicating that the state has made great strides in the field of drug research.

 

It is noteworthy that the drug market has about 155 drug factories, about 1,200 commercial companies that manufacture their products for others, "Toll", and about 20 foreign drug companies operating in the market, either through their factories in Egypt or through their scientific offices.

 

 

And the Drug Industry Chamber of the Federation of Industries announced this May 3, the availability of sufficient reserves of medical oxygen, supplies and medical devices to face the spread of the third wave of the Corona virus, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to work on the medical sector being prepared permanently to deal with the repercussions of the Corona virus.

 

 

Dr. Ahmed El-Ezaby, head of the Chamber of Medicine Industry at the Federation of Industries, confirmed that the situation we have in Egypt is very better, as the government was able to provide Chinese, American and English vaccines, praising the interest of the political leadership and the government in the health file, and not sparing any effort in terms of preserving the health, safety and lives of citizens.

 

Al-Ezaby appealed to citizens to follow the preventive and precautionary measures issued by the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health, in order to preserve their safety, in addition to continuing the wheel of production in a way that serves the public interest.
