The Palestinian Endowments Authority decides to open mosques to perform Tarawih prayers during the month of Ramadan



The Undersecretary of the Palestinian Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs Husam Abu Al-Rub said that it was decided to open mosques in front of worshipers to perform Tarawih prayers during the blessed month of Ramadan in areas free of infection from the Coronavirus, indicating that all imams and preachers were circulated to shorten the reading in prayer and suffice to perform the prayers without giving Sermon lessons, and the duration of the Isha and Tarawih prayers should not exceed half an hour.


This came during Abu al-Rub's meeting with the directors of endowments from various governorates to review the religious programs prepared for the approaching month of Ramadan, and to discuss the ministry’s plans in light of the pandemic Corona virus, and in accordance with preventive measures and measures, after coordination with the government and the competent medical authorities, according to the agency. He added that with regard to Friday prayers, all arrangements have been made to hold Friday prayers in public squares, and it has been agreed on the places and squares in which prayer will take place.


He stressed the need for worshipers to continue to take the established health safety measures, bring the prayer rug, wear the muzzle, and separate the worshipers, explaining that coordination has been made to provide all health-recommended public safety measures in every mosque, and that safety measures will be followed up in every mosque, and the mosques to be closed.
