Press reports revealed that the Moroccan Football Federation has submitted the candidacy file to host the African Champions League final and the Confederation Cup final in the new version.
"Le360" Moroccan Sport website said that the Moroccan Federation has designated the Mohammed V stadium in Casablanca to host the Champions League final and the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium in Rabat to host the "Confederation" Cup final.
The site indicated that Fawzi Lakjaa, President of the Moroccan Federation, confirmed during the meeting of the Federation’s Board of Directors that was held at the Federation’s headquarters that Morocco will continue to host international and continental matches.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF), headed by South African Patrice Mutsibi, announced the appointment of Egyptian Hani Abu Raida, a member of the FIFA emergency committee, during the next four years, after his success in winning his international position, to become the oldest member of FIFA's governing body.
Nigerian Amago Melvin Pinnick was also selected by the emergency committee, while Fawzi Lakjaa, president of the Moroccan Football Federation, continued to head the CAF Finance Committee.
Abdul Ghani Saeed Arab, president of the Somali federation, was also appointed as a member of the executive office of the continental federation.
