Statistics: About 1.1 million work permits were obtained by Egyptians in 2019

The total number of work permits issued to Egyptians to work abroad "for the first time / renewal" recorded about 1.1 million permits in 2019, compared to 1.08 permits in 2018, a slight increase of 2.5%, while the numerical and relative distribution of work permits issued to Egyptians to work abroad according to the type of permit. Once / renewal, "in the years from 2015 until 2019, the total number of work permits issued to Egyptians to work abroad decreased from 1.3 million permits in 2015 to about 1.08 million permits in 2018, a decline of 18.8%.

 

The data issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics showed that the highest percentage of Egyptian immigrants abroad according to the educational status in the years from 2015 to 2018 was for those with intermediate qualifications at 37.4%, followed by holders of higher qualifications by about 29.5% of the total permits for Egyptians to work abroad in 2018. While the lowest percentage of Egyptian immigrants abroad with above-average qualifications was about 4.5% of the total number of immigrants in 2018.

 

The first national statistical report on the indicators of the sustainable development goals was launched in May 2018, the results of which resulted in the availability of 105 indicators, at a rate of 43%. The second report for monitoring and following up on the sustainable development goals was launched in December 2019, the results of which showed the availability of 116 indicators out of a total of 47.5% of sustainable development indicators.
