Saudi Arabia temporarily closes 8 mosques, some of them in Makkah, after confirming cases of corona



Saudi Arabia decided to temporarily close 8 mosques in 3 regions after cases of infection with the Coronavirus were proven among the ranks of the worshipers, bringing the total to 381 mosques closed, 364 of which were opened after the completion of the sterilization and the completion of the readiness in the framework of ensuring the safety of the worshipers.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Advocacy and Guidance indicated - according to the Saudi Press Agency - today, Saturday, that the closed mosques are four mosques in the Qassim region, three mosques in Makkah Al-Mukarramah region and a mosque in Najran.

The Ministry indicated the reopening of 7 mosques, two in Riyadh, a mosque in Al-Qassim region, a mosque in Al-Sharqiyah region, a mosque in Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, a mosque in the northern border region, and a mosque in Tabuk region, after completing all precautionary measures of sterilization and maintenance.

The Ministry reiterated its emphasis on worshipers and mosque employees to abide by the instructions for precautionary measures, in order to ensure their safety and health.
